Our Garden Oasis
Here, amidst whispering trees and chirping birds, souls find rest and hearts connect with God’s soothing whispers.
Having spent the last five years renovating the house and gite, the gardens are still work in progress, set in 2/3rds of an acre there is plenty of space to find some seclusion and peace to read a book or just enjoy the fresh air. The gardens are for the share enjoyment of all of our guests.
Refesh your spirit with a dip in the pool. Or take a stroll down to the nearby Tardoire River.
Maison de Paix is situated within a pretty hamlet which benefits from no street lights, making it a wonderful place to appreciate the celestial starry sky on clear warm evenings.

Around and About
You may want to explore the area whilst you’re here. We are located in the Périgord-Limousin Parc Naturel, a very green and lush area of the Dordogne, we are right on the edge of the Charente and Haute Vienne departments too, equidistant from the towns of Périgueux, Angoulême and Limoges, approximately 1 hour from each.
This area is known for it’s many lakes, there is a beautiful one with a lovely walk around it, at St Mathieu just 10 minutes by car, it also has a beach and there are a couple of restaurants.
If taking a day out, keep your eyes open for some beautiful châteaux on your journeys. There’s plenty to see and do and we’d be happy to give you some pointers.
